Landscape
Gardens and flowers have been an intrinsic part of Lucy’s life for as long as she can remember. A childhood spent on the edges of southeast London had her yearning for wild open spaces and big skies rather than the confines of the city. So, she spent time in the family garden in a tree house constructed by her father out of old bits of wood and a precarious bucket on a string pulley system.
Her Grandmother gardened. Big tangled, wild borders of shaggy shasta daisies and vermillion Shirley poppies. Lucy and her sister would spend many a happy hour making 'little gardens' in trays of sand, fascinated by the small 'seasons' captured in a moment.
Lucy runs an award-winning landscape design studio that creates exceptional design by exploring the character and atmosphere of a place and translating this into a creative and artistic response.
Her design is inspired by strong architectural lines and fine details from the past that sit quietly within their place. Gardens are planted to provide an impassioned response and connection to the outside world, less tightened by the codes of structured beauty.
